The Government's RM40 Electricity Bill Rebate Programme is targeted at Miskin Tegar households registered and verified in the eKasih system.
Sabah Electricity is one of the electricity utilities participating in the programme.

2. RM200 NUR:DOMESTIK Appliance Rebate
The NUR:DOMESTIK 2026 programme is implemented by SEDA Malaysia under PETRA and provides an e-Rebate for eligible domestic consumers purchasing selected energy-efficient appliances.
For 2026, eligible users can receive a

4- or 5-star air conditioner or refrigerator.
The 2026 domestic programme started on 1 July 2026 and is scheduled to run until 31 December 2026, subject to the available programme quota. The allocation operates on a first come, first served basis.
Who can apply for the RM200 rebate?
The published NUR:DOMESTIK 2026 criteria include:
- Malaysian citizen;
- registered user or owner of an eligible domestic electricity account;
- Sabah Electricity / SESB domestic accounts are included;
- the applicant must not have made a claim under NUR@PETRA 2025; and

Will a More Efficient Air Conditioner Reduce Your Electricity Bill?
It can, especially if an older or less efficient air conditioner is used for many hours each day. However, the actual saving depends on the specific appliance and how it is used.
Air-conditioner electricity consumption can vary according to:
- brand and model;
- rated power input;
- inverter behaviour;
- compressor load;
- room size;
- temperature setting;
- building insulation;
- Sabah's outdoor heat and humidity; and
- maintenance condition.
For this reason, horsepower alone should not be treated as a fixed electricity-consumption figure. Two 1.5HP air conditioners can consume different amounts of electricity depending on their design and operating conditions.

- Refrigerators and freezers β older or additional units operate throughout the day.
